Profile

Ann is a registered psychologist with over 35 years of experience as a counsellor, working with community organisations and supporting persons with disabilities.  Her qualifications include Bachelor of Arts (Hons), Graduate Diploma in Business Management and Graduate Diploma in Social Sciences (Counselling), with further training in Coaching (Executive, Career, Health & Well Being).

Ann has worked extensively with persons who have presented with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, workplace issues, stress & burnout, parenting concerns, health issues, grief and loss, relationship difficulties and navigating the complexities of life transitions such as divorce, redundancy, career changes, and personal life events such as health and age.  Specific therapeutic modalities used in her practise include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Positive Psychology and Positive Behaviour Therapy.  Ann has a particular interest in working with individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, couples, adolescents 15 years and older, members of the LGBTIQ+ community and men.

To enable persons to explore their unique life narrative and its relation to their current circumstances, Ann endeavours to create a safe and inviting environment by working alongside them in a practical, holistic, accepting, empathic, and encouraging manner.  She believes that the aim of any counselling is to enable a person to experience personal growth, greater connection to others, improved physical and mental wellbeing, and to live a life that has purpose and meaning to them.
